About me

A pal, Sameer Rajadnya, first came up with the idea that I should have a website of my own. He designed this, and it was another pal, Ashutosh Tewari, who did a lot of the technical work. They are really the people responsible for this site - if it wasn't for them, you may not have been reading this today. For the simple reason that I'm okay when it comes to writing fiction, but a total dud to penning fact.

Which, as you've probably noticed, is why I've made a huge story out of that as well.

To get down to brass tacks: I'm female, 30-something, and live in New Delhi, India. I've been writing ever since I was a kid - whenever I got away from reading. By the time I'd grown up a bit, I was reading more and writing less, and had picked on hotel management as a profession. I stuck with it for 7 years before changing careers and becoming a Client Servicing Executive in an upcoming new ad agency.

This agency was a free-for-all sort of place, so I soon found myself doing everything from media buying and client servicing to copywriting. Somewhere along the way, someone I'd helped with setting up a hotel (Devi Garh, near Udaipur, India) got me to write the text for the hotel's website. Since then, it's been writing all the way - ad copy, articles, travel writing and instructional design, which I slogged away at for four years, before giving it all up to concentrate on fiction.

Short stories are what I've been concentrating on much of the time, and besides the ones you can see on this site, there are others which haven't been published yet. I'm also currently working on my first full-length book, a historical detective novel set in 17th century Delhi.

Stick around for more, as they say. I'll be back.
