I’ve written long fiction. I’ve written short fiction. I’ve even written some flash fiction. So, when I got a mail from Peter Griffin at Forbes India, asking if I’d like to contribute microfiction for a post on the Forbes India blog, I jumped at the idea.

Microfiction, for the uninitiated (which included me till last week) is fiction that can fit into the number of characters (140, to be precise – spaces included) of a tweet. A tough challenge, actually, but it turned out to be thoroughly enjoyable. This is what I came up with:

Snooping about, he overheard a deadly plot being hatched. Was caught – and defenestrated. Eavesdropped, so to say.

There are nine other stories, in very varied styles and moods, from other authors, a number of whom (Manjul Bajaj, Amitava Kumar, Manjula Padmanabhan, and Anita Roy among them) I’ve already read, and admire immensely. Click here to read the rest of the post. Enjoy!
